Eurostar Boarding
Instructions

Everything you need for a smooth departure

Your Travel Director will provide you with a physical Eurostar ticket prior to boarding. You do not need to search for an electronic ticket in your travel documents.

Your Ticket Details

Once your Travel Director gives you your physical ticket, please locate and familiarise yourself with all five details below. Knowing these in advance is essential for a smooth and stress-free boarding experience.

Arrive 90 minutes before departure Allow time for check-in, security and passport control
1 Check-in & Ticket Scanning

Use the QR code on your physical ticket to scan in at the check-in gates. Have your ticket and passport ready before you reach the barrier.

2 Security Screening
This is similar to airport security

All bags, including your suitcase, will go through the scanner. To make it as smooth as possible:

  • Place all metal objects (watch, belt, phone, wallet) into your carry-on bag
  • Laptops and tablets can remain inside your bag
  • Water bottles are permitted through security
3 Passport Control
New biometric controls are in place

Follow the on-screen instructions carefully and select "Yes" where appropriate, except for obvious exclusions such as dangerous goods.

4 Departure Lounge & Platform

Once through all checks, you will enter the departure lounge. Your platform will be announced closer to boarding time.

Finding your platform on the screens

Look for your departure time, then your train number and arrival city. Approximately 30 minutes before departure, a platform number will appear. Proceed promptly as soon as it is announced.

Use Your Time in the Lounge Wisely - Grab Food & Coffee

This is a great opportunity to treat yourself to a proper coffee and pick up something to eat. I strongly recommend grabbing a sandwich or snack to take on the train for an early lunch. There is no lunch stop on the way to Amsterdam, only a quick bathroom break along the route.

  • Pick up a sandwich or snack to eat on the train. You'll thank yourself later
  • Grab a good coffee here; the station has much better options than on board
  • Most importantly, bring a bottle of water with you onto the train
  • The on-board food carriage is slow, limited in options and often runs out of stock. It is far better to sort yourself out before boarding
5 On Board the Train
Make your way to your assigned coach and seat
  • Place your suitcase in the luggage racks at the end of the carriage
  • If there is no space, use the racks in the next carriage
  • Keep hand luggage with you or in the overhead racks
  • Ensure your valuables are secure at all times

Important

Please use the bathroom onboard before we arrive in Brussels Midi. There are no facilities available for at least 1.5 hours after disembarking. Bathrooms are located at the end of every carriage. If the one on your carriage is occupied, simply walk through to the next carriage. Please do make sure you go before we arrive into Brussels.

Upon arrival, check thoroughly for all your belongings, phones, wallets, and bags, before leaving your seat.

Once you disembark, look for your Travel Director on the platform. They will be there waiting for you.

Any questions before boarding, please speak with your Travel Director.
